- Preparation
1. Choose a piece.
2. Research about the background of the composer and the piece.
*Students can choose any piece/composer.

- Take a video
1. Become the composer then Introduce yourself as the composer and explain about the piece you’ll perform. Please explain how you as the composer wrote the piece. (for interpretation)
ex) Imagine how was the composer's mood or feel through historical facts.
2. Play the piece.
*The video should be less than 5 mins.
*Scores are 70% creativity/good research/presentation and 30% performance.
*Submit the video on your google classroom by 4/10/2021

- Prize award
All students who attend will earn 500 points.
1st place : $100 for one student
2nd place : $50 for two students
3rd place : $25 for three students
*The winner's teacher will receive the same amount as the prize money.
* Videos of the winners will be posted on our website and YouTube.

FAQ
1. Do we have to wear a costume?
It's not required, but if you do, it can add extra points. The most important thing is how to understand the composer and how creatively explain yourself as the composer.
2. Who is judge?
This will be done through voting by NYSA teachers.
3. Can I choose a piece by Anonymous/unknown?
Yes. For anonymous, you should imagine and create a story.
4. Can student make 2 videos for different composer or instrument?
No. If you have the energy and time for 2 videos, just make 1 video with better quality.
5. Is it requirement for all students?
Nope. Any NYSA students can attend it but it's not required.
