Ms. Lin Ye is a versatile pianist and an experienced educator with techniques and insights incorporating both Asian and Western methodologies. She received her Master of Music degree in Classical Piano with President’s Award from Manhattan School of Music in 2023 and graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University with Dual Bachelor Degrees in Piano Performance and Psychology in 2021. She has taught classical and pop music to students from age 4 to age 77. Ms. Ye prepares students for performances/recitals, auditions, competitions, and ABRSM exams, especially from Grade 5 to Grade 8, including theory, aural, and sight-reading. Her students gained “Distinction” results on ABRSM exams. Ms. Ye, from China and Mongolia, has performed piano concerto by Liszt with symphony orchestra as a solo pianist, won international competitions, and held performances and solo recitals in many venues. She has a wide range of repertoire and presents masterpieces from all periods in different genres. Additionally, she improvises, arranges, composes, and presents her works. In addition to traditional piano studies, Ms. Ye focuses on holistic development of students, integrates music theory and aural skills on lessons, and teaches innovative works when applicable as these enrich students’ understanding/appreciation of music, develop their creativity, and expand their horizon. Her students look forward to her lessons every week, and she also enjoys working with students with diverse interests and aims. Having a solid educational background in music and psychology, Ms. Ye merges knowledge and ideas of both fields to discover students’ characteristics and musical potentials, design lessons tailored to individuals, and nurture students holistically in their own unique life-long relationships with the piano and music world.
